Mr. Sung led boldly with Schubert’s Posthumous Sonata in B flat, and on the whole he managed to sustain its heavenly lengths with a fair degree of skill. His use of dynamic contrasts as a constructive principal proved effective on one level in giving the piece a cohesive overview, while his tone remained warm and sonorous.
